Day 2 of the 5 Day Prayer Challenge
What were your past lover’s names?
No, I’m not just talking about people you had relations with, because those are not the only kinds of lovers.
See, I was a virgin when I got married...but I had plenty of lovers, even though we never engaged in sexual intercourse.
From emotional soul ties with different women, to pornography addiction and an unhealthy attachment to success, I had plenty of ties outside of full-blown sex.
Because the truth is...anything in your life that takes PRIORITY over Christ becomes a lover.
God talks directly about this in Exodus 20:5, “You must not make for yourself an idol, you must not bow down or worship them. I the lord your God am a jealous God, who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods.”
Before I met Natasha, God took me through a SERIOUS season of DELIVERANCE.
I still remember the night my pastor said to me, “Jamal, how can God make room for the “NEW” if you are not willing to let go of the “OLD”.
This is why it’s so important to pray over your future spouse’s past!
Pray that they are dealing with the junk, because it will play a vital role in them being able to find you, and be ready and prepared to for a successful marriage.
Prayer Scripture: Exodus 20:5, “You must not make for yourself an idol, you must not bow down or worship them. I the lord your God am a jealous God, who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods.”
Pray this powerful prayer for your future spouse to be free from ALL ties:
Father, I thank you for my future spouse.
I pray in the name of Jesus that you tear down all false idols in their life, and sever all ties to anyone and anything other than You.
Set them free from every form of sexual, mental, and emotional tie between them and any and every past lover.
Your word says that where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom. Let your Spirit fill every part of them that they would be set free in all areas of their life. Deliver them from every lustful and impure spirit.
Break every generational curse connected to their bloodline.
Let purity and freedom be their portion in Jesus name, Amen.
