Day 1 of the 5 Day Prayer Challenge
Do you remember the story of the 3 little pigs?
If you haven’t then basically each little pig built their house using different materials, and a BIG BAD WOLF went to each of their houses and said the super infamous line…
The Bible says in Matthew 7:24-27, Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds house on a solid rock.”
I remember the first time I prayed over my future wife.
The only thing I knew to pray for at that point was for her relationship with God because I knew how important this would be for the success of our future marriage.
I didn’t just pray for her to know God, I prayed that her heart would BURN with fiery passion for the Lord, and that she would love God MORE than she would ever love me.
I knew that if she loved God more than me, our marriage would be unbreakable.
A lot of people are afraid of their future spouse loving God more than them.
But, whatever you love most becomes your God. So, if a person loves you most, you take on the PRESSURE of being their god...which will break you and destroy the relationship because you aren’t God.
Your future spouse’s relationship with God is the make or break for the success of your future marriage.
Prayer Scripture: Matthew 7:24-25
“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.”
Pray this powerful prayer for your future spouse to have the RIGHT foundation:
Father, I thank you for my future spouse.
I pray in the name of Jesus that you would empower them to not only hear Your Word, but to also build a life on the foundation of Godly principals.
Tear up and destroy everything within them that is not built on You.
Cause their heart to desire You more than anything else, and may you be their First Love in all way and in all things.
Your word says we love You because You first loved us.
Cause them to have a greater understanding of Your love, that they may then love You even more.
Draw them with Your loving kindness.
Build a firm foundation in their life upon the Cornerstone, Jesus Christ. Make them unbreakable through Jesus.
Make their heart beat for You alone.
In Jesus name, Amen.
